Photos from 9th Oct 2002 to 10th Mar 2003 (Oldest photos at bottom)

10th Mar- This is my new stomach tube. Dad gives my 'bolus' feeds 6-7 times a day. Bolus means at once. I also have a pump which drips the food slowly. Mum also feeds by a stomach tube 9th Mar- I went to a restaurant for the last time before transplant. Peter, Elena and George came along. This Greek restaurant is in Astoria 8th Mar- My Yiayia (Grandmother) taught me to make koulouria (Greek biscuits) today. They tasted great.

28th Feb- I hated my naso-gastric tube. They took it out today. I have to put on weight or they will place a stomach tube in the next few days 24th Feb- This is our friend Jim Bliku who works at Qantas. Jim has been a fantastic help for our family and is organising a huge raffle. When it is ready I will write about it here. 24th Feb - I had Australian visitors today. These kind people are from the Australian Women in New York Association. On the left is Jane, seated in the middle is Shele, seated next to Nina is Andrea and standing behind me is Alicia.

25th Feb- Channel 12 from Long Island is doing a news story about me and my family. I was a little nervous doing the interview. 23rd Feb - John Mayer wins Grammy in New York- John visited me in Hospital

17th Feb - Over 19 inches of snow fell over the last 24 hours and our street was blocked. Here you can see Nina and Aunt Debbie playing in the snow outside our apartment..

17th Feb - There has been so much snow this winter season in New York. This photo was taken outside the hospital entrance 16th Feb - It was my Mum's birthday today. She has finished her radiation and chemotherapy but she is still in huge pain and must eat through her stomach feeding tube 5th Feb - Our nurse an friend Danella left to go back to Australia today.

30th Jan- My sister Nina got some fantastic presents from our Aunt Demetra. Her favourite present of all is her Barbie skates. She is ALWAYS wearing them

30th Jan- We are very lucky to have my Aunt Debbie with us. She looks after my mother while she has radiation and chemo. She spoilt Nina on her birthday

31st Jan- We had a small party for Nina. Peter and Elena came over and Debbie and Danella were there also

16th Jan- It was so nice to meet Elmo De Alwis. Elmo is the CEO of Sigma Pharmaceuticals but that does not stop him from writing to me at least once a month. While in New York on business he came to visit me 1st Jan - Happy New Year. I hope and pray 2003 is a better year for me and my family. 1st Jan- We had our own small New Year's eve party with Peter and Elena Skountzos visiting. It was very nice of them to spend time with me.
27th Dec - Paul Duchen and Misha are friends of Dad's and they work for Arrow Pharmaceuticals. They have helped me so much and have done fundraising for me. 25th Dec - New York had the first white Christmas since 1969. 7 inches of snow fell. I was so cool to play with the snow. That is me in the black playing with Nina 25th Dec- Mum, Aunt Debbie and Nina stand in front of the big apartment Christmas tree. It is huge!
11th Dec- John Mayer the Grammy Award nominated singer came to the hospital. It was cool. I had to sent 9 days in hospital with a very serious infection. I got out just before Christmas 7th Dec- It was the first big snow fall of the season. I had very seen snow fall before but I was too sick to leave the apartment. In this photo is Mum, Nina and my Aunt Debbie  4th Dec- I was very lucky that my cousin Stanley and Aunt Kay came with us to New York. They helped us set up the apartment again. My cousin helped me get my mind off all the treatment

From the time I started chemo on 10th October to the day we left for New York again on 20th November I had a lot of time in hospital. I also got shingles which was very painful. Because my Mum also got cancer of the tongue she needed an operation. She had to stay behind in Brisbane to recover before she could join us in New York.

20th Nov- I was very nervous today as we left Australia to go back to New York. I need to have another bone marrow transplant.

23rd Oct - I was fortunate to be home when my Grandparents celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary. My Grandmother Nina is with us in New York again.

17th Oct - My Cousins came over for a visit. Stanley G, Nina, Me, Kayla, and Stamie. It was one of my last times at home.

10th Oct- A bone marrow test today found the leukaemia had returned. I was very upset. We started chemo again that night. My youngest cousin Rosette came to visit. I was having treatment at Royal Childrens Hospital in Brisbane

19th Sept- This photo with Nina was taken at the Guild Dinner in September. It is one of my favourite photos

9th Oct- I went to Movie World on the Gold Coast with Mum and Dad. This happened to be the day before I relapsed. I love Movie World but I had not been there for two years. Bugs is my favourite character.   23rd Sept- Greg Kearns from Amcal in Victoria is raising money for the Leukaemia Foundation. He is riding his bike around the southern part of Australia for 6 weeks visiting many of the pharmacies along the way. Some of the money raised will help pay for my medical expenses and help other children like me.
