20 November 2009 - Today Stanley would have celebrated graduating Year 12. Our sincere thanks to John Paul College for remembering Stanley at their Year 12 Valedictory Service. Madi Stay a classmate of Stanley who graduated Year 12 this year wrote and read out this beautiful letter. Thank you Madi for the beautiful letter!!

Kos, Effie and Nina gave a small memento to each graduating Year 12 student. The pin symbolises two aspects.

-Stanley’s shining light.  His heavenly body, being with us always from above, and

-Each graduating student is a star and that the future will hold many bright opportunities to be pursued.

Letter to Stanley from Madi

Dear Stanley,

Hi, I know it's been a while since we last spoke ... sometime in Grade 4 I think. I don't know if you can get mail up in heaven, or if you can hear me now. I guess they might have a postal service up there. They have the coolest things in heaven! I don't know for certain, but I hope to find out one day. I was just thinking before about how you were such an amazing person, and such a wonderful  friend, whom I really miss; and I wish you ere still around a lot of the time. I'm sure that everyone who remembers you would know what I am talking about. I don't know if anyone thinks about you, but I do pretty often, and I really miss you.

I think it's unfair that such a special person had to leave so early in life. You always made everyone's life so much brighter. You were smart, funny, and you always seemed to make the best of every situation. They are qualities that few possess, especially all in one package ... but you did. I remember the day we found you were gone., I played the same song in the car; screamed at the top of my voice; cried; got angry; yelled; cried more - and then brought a lollipop from Radio Lollipop from the lady at the stall at the middle of the shopping centre. I cried my eyes and heart out that day... kind of like I was doing when I wrote this letter. I can't say it enough, but I miss you so much, and when I think about world without you I cry.

Today we both would have graduated; you would have turned seventeen, along with the rest of our friends. Joe got School Captain; I know you would be proud of her. I don't want to offend any of the other captains, but I totally think you have been up there in the lists of captains if you were here. Since we had a chance to talk I've done a fair bit. I've grown a lot; I've moved states; and I travelled; and I've figured out what I want to do with my life... it's been a big few years and I am sad I did it all without you around. I saw a photo of Nina a while back. She looks amazing. You would be such a proud, and probably very protective big brother.

Anyway I probably should be doing some work- I guess that's one of the upsides to not doing Yr 12! The work is ridiculous. One day I promise I'll find you, and we can hang out. I hope you're doing well up there; they should definitely be treating you like a prince after all the stuff you had to go through down here. We all miss you, and I promise I'll give your Mum a call to check in.

Love you heaps and hears.

Madi.
